Why is an uncomfortable helmet and getting blasted in the body by 150+mph winds somehow preferable to a convertible and windshield?

I can maybe see the appeal on a pre 1970s race car. But not on a modern mclaren. That sounds like hell.

Ick, I just thought of something. Can you imagine what bugs would do to that beautiful leather upholstery if you don’t have a passenger on board?

I prefer that headlight treatment to most current McLarens.

I see people are really upset with the lack of windshield in these comments.

Well if you have one and are disappointed, I’ll take it off your hands - no charge!

To help keep the wind out of your face, the Elva’s Active Air Management System deploys when the car is driven at faster than suburban street speeds, roughly 25 miles per hour. The system directs air around the cabin to create what it calls a “bubble of calm” for those inside. Air is channeled through the car’s nose — or front end — and sent out in a high-velocity sheet, just ahead of the cockpit. This air acts like a windshield, forcing oncoming air around the cockpit. A small carbon fiber wind deflector also rises up at the front of the car, further directing the air around the cabin.

Also, if you arent being blasted by wind, why wouldnt you just buy a car with a windshield and a removable roof?

Love a car that has no roof. You give up a lot of practicality, but you can do some awesome design stuff. It's cool and it has singularity of purpose
